- PELCO-PTZ provides a command line RS232 driver for controlling Pelco Inc., surveillance cameras that have RS422/485 inputs. This driver implements the Pelco 'P' protocol used to control such devices. The command line interfaces supports all aspects of.
- StartNow Design Contest - You really CAN take the P&T out of PTZ Auto focus CCTV cameras with built in remote zoom functions are often pricy to use in situations where only the zoom function, and not pan and tilt are required. This is a severe drawback in terms of utilizing the full functionality of such a camera. This is because a relatively bulky full PTZ receiver module has to be used for this one function. Enter a very cost effective solution, the PIC222 Zoom receiver. The A/D function is used to read the value set by the dip switches to give the unit it's full PTZ ID number which is 1 to 32. An RS458 receiver passes the control data to the PIC which drives either GP0 or GP1 according to the truth table in the diagram. The unit is powered by 5.6 volts using an MCP1701 whose ground rail has been lifted by D1. Zoom control is either +5 volts directly from GP0 or -5v from GP1 which by virtue of it's 25mA current drive capability is used to directly power the TC7660S voltage invertor. When GP0 and GP1 are both low the zoom control is zero. The whole unit is low cost, low power consumtion and very small allowing easy an add into even the smallest camera housing !
